As the founder and head trainer of Neighborhound Dog Training, Julia (PhD) helps other dog lovers crack the code of dog training and behavior in simple steps so that they can live the life they had imagined when bringing home their pup. And after years of teaching dogs (and their humans!) through private training, she is excited to make dog training more accessible through her online school so that you can benefit no matter where you are, and no matter your budget.
But hearing her clients brag that their pooch “is the most well-behaved dog in the dog park” is only one part that fills Julia with joy - she’s thrilled that they got there by training with rewards and an appreciation for their dog’s well-being. In fact, with her veterinary degree and background in animal welfare, Julia knows that this is key to a well-behaved dog in the home and on walks, and to a fabulous relationship.
When not supporting others with their pup, Julia loves taking her own dogs on camping adventures, trying new Sushi places, or joining Louise Penny's Armand Gamache in his latest fight for justice in Three Pines.
